As it had previously been announced during its last meeting in June, Confapindustria Piacenza (the local association for small and medium-sized enterprises) has already answered to one of the most important requests of local metalworking societies: focusing on solutions to overcome the lack of specialised workers, in particular of welders.

«We can now offer the first professional training for specialised welders – says Giuseppe Ballotta, Confapi council member, who took active part in organising the training. – It will last 100 hours and will involve unemployed people, thanks to the cooperation with Randstad and GTI – Italian TechnoGas society».«The training will start in November, – Mr Ballotta states – its planning was defined during a meeting with several entrepreneurs, who expressed their concern regarding the lack of trained operators for the growing complexity of their manufactures. The operators must be highly specialised and willing to perform manual labour, which nonetheless allows them to further qualify in the labour market of Piacenza that is currently offering a solid job opportunity».
«Confapi was able to find the necessary funding as well – Mr Ballotta explains – thus reducing almost to zero the economic impact for societies, which otherwise should have invested thousands of euros to activate such specific trainings».
