The welding division at Tecnocarp has commenced the process to achieve UNI EN1090-1 certification by March, which will become obligatory as of July for companies manufacturing structures in steel and aluminium, in compliance with the European Directive for construction products (CPD 89/106/EEC).
The UNI EN 1090-1 standard concerns assessment of conformity (design and production) of the structural components in steel and aluminium used to build steel and mixed structures (Concrete and Steel).
Elements can be used directly in works or incorporated into the same after being assembled. Welding is a special process more commonly used for products covered by EN 1090-1.
The standard includes certification of the welding quality system, pursuant to UNI EN ISO 3834 as well as the qualification of procedures, welds and staff responsible for non-destructive tests.
